Ground Calcium Carbonate. MCC is a subsidiary of Abo Kastour Group of companies operating in Egypt since 1956.

The Company owns a quarry, a crusher & a plant in El-Minya in Upper Egypt. The location of the quarry in Sareria Valley in El-Minya is known for the premium Limestone quality worldwide. The quarry and the crusher are on 80,000m². The German technology crusher produces 125 ton/hour of CaCO3 with particle size ranging from 45µ – 3mm.

The Plant is built on 40,000m2 in the Industrial zone of New Minya City. The plant will further process the crusher products to produce Fine & Super Fine both coated and uncoated CaCO₃ with particle size from 3µ to 45µ. The area is known for the premium Limestone quality worldwide due to the high limestone purity & the above 95% whiteness.

Limestone is a common sedimentary rock composed primarily of the calcium carbonate (CaCO₃). Limestone constitutes approximately 10 percent of the sedimentary rocks exposed on the earth’s surface.

Either limestone or marble may be used as the basis for crushed or ground calcium carbonate. Ground calcium carbonate, commonly referred to as GCC, and is widely used as an industrial mineral. Three primary attributes: particle size, color and chemical purity define the quality of the GCC, and define the suitability of use for any given application.

We manufactures crushed and ground limestone products at two of the performance mining plants.

At Minya Carbonate Company high brightness limestone from our quarry (size from 3 mm up to 45 micron) are ground into products which range in size from 36 micron to 2 micron.

GCC products are used in the whole variety of applications for limestones – building products, paints, plastics, agriculture, glass, animal feed, and paper, among others.

For the wide range of industrial application as surface treated calcium carbonate by using highest technology such as Hosokawa Alpine and Haver & Bocker in our milling plant and Hazemag, Mogensen and Hosokawa Alpine in the crusher plant.

Our products are sold in export to Asia, Middle East and Africa directly through our sales team or through our distributers.
